CeBIT: More than €2,570 raised for charity to construct a bicycle repair shop for the underprivileged young people in Frankfurt, Mainfeld

Hamburg: The German IT security specialist gateprotect is drawing a positive balance of the CeBIT. More than 2500 Euro was raised for underprivileged youth.

More than 500 persons participated in a very special CeBIT activity during the five days of the trade show. The Hamburg-based IT security provider gateprotect donated five Euro for a charitable purpose for each visitor who kept up two minutes on the race bike simulator. At the end, 2570 Euro were collected for the construction of a bicycle repair shop for underprivileged young people in Frankfurt, Mainfeld.

Study expresses concern over shortage of skilled cyber security professionals worldwide

2013 Global Information Security Workforce Study finds that hactivism, cyber-terrorism and state-sponsored acts among list of top security concerns, yet two-thirds of CISOs feel short-staffed, resulting in frequent and costly data breaches

The study of more than 12,000 information security professionals worldwide (3,229 from the Europe/Middle East/Africa region) reveals that the global shortage of information security professionals is having a profound impact on the economy and is driven by a combination of business conditions, executives not fully understanding the need for security, and an inability to locate qualified information security professionals.

gateprotect Firewall awarded EAL4+ Certification under Common Criteria

Hamburg: The German IT security specialist gateprotect has successfully completed the internationally recognized EAL4+ certification under Common Criteria. In the course of development, the firewall packet filtering core was evaluated by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in Germany.
