Tony Blair, former British Prime Minister for 10 years (+) once described the continent of Africa as “a scar on the conscience of the world” and he appears to have gotten away with that unguarded and ill-conceived statement because since the death of Kwame Nkrumah, Africa has had the misfortune of having dolomites who apart from lining up their pockets with money, care less about the place of Africa in the modern world as its leaders, hence whatever is said about that continent by anyone and by, especially the western media often goes unchallenged.

The trio of IMO, shipping industry and seafarers have called on the UN Secretary- General, Mr Ban Ki-Moon in a letter jointly signed by IMO Secretary-General Efthimios E. Mitropoulos and heads of international shipping and seafarer organizations to lend support in securing the release of hostages - seafarers, in the main - currently being held by pirates in Somalia.

Tower of LondonICTS UK has won the highly competitive and prestigious Historic Royal Palaces contract for the provision of security warding services.

Vigilance reliably learnt that the contract whose terms include the provision of access control, bag searching (supported by specialist search dogs), and general assistance to the operations team at the Tower of London including the Yeoman Warders will commence on 1st November 2010.
