CREDANT receives CESG Claims Tested Mark

RAF releases Redundancy Schemes

Vigilance can confirm authoritatively that the Royal Air Force, yesterday, became the first of the three Armed Services to release the details of their redundancy programme to staff. The Army and the Royal Navy are expected to release similar details at the beginning of April.

Research by a US university undergraduate that has revealed that Google Android apps are sending user credentials in the clear comes as no surprise to Phil Lieberman, CEO of Lieberman Software. "According to newswire reports, Dan Wallach's research has revealed that several Android apps - including an approved Facebook application - are sending all data but the password ‘in the clear.’ This is absolutely typical of open source software, since there is little incentive for the software developer to use secure protocols unless the destination system requires this,” he said.

RAF set to disband Numbers 14 and XIII Tornado Squadrons

Vigilance can confirm that the RAF today is announcing the two Tornado squadrons which will be disbanded. They are XIII Squadron, based at Royal Air Force Marham, and 14 Squadron, based at Royal Air Force Lossiemouth. These Squadrons have been selected by the Air Force Board Standing Committee, taking into account operational commitments and the relative seniority of the Squadrons at each base. The Squadrons will be formally stood down on 1 June. The RAF will retain 5 frontline Tornado squadrons with a total fleet of 136 GR4 aircraft.
