SERIES: BUHARISM AND THE FIERCE URGENCY OF NOW
Guys!
Greetings,
Today is certainly not a day for a PR by a paper like the The Guardian for BABA DAURA. I feel very much ashamed at what the Editorial Board of The Guardian has been turned into.
You guys don't seem to know where the nation is currently...it is such that we need a change of trajectory economically, and politically, today is supposed to be used to scholarly dissect and properly analyse the events leading to Jan 15, 1966, consequent upon the civil war, asking the questions: what have we learnt; what have we gained, have we moved away from ROAD '66; if no, why not, and if yes, how far have we moved, especially with the cries for self-determination by the various federating/hypenate/ed units, etc?
The editorial that is expected from The Guardian today ought to start from the front page, devoting two-three pages to it and should have the magisterial capacity to jolt the Governnment, keep it perpetually on its toes - a sort of wake up call, warning the Government and Nigerians that the THE EYES OF THE WORLD ARE UPON NIGERIA.
What a missed opportunity!
Shame!!!
aduma.
