Belfast, UK: The International Conference on Venue and Event Safety (ICVES) has announced some of the international speakers who will travel to Belfast for the conference.
The conference is the first of its kind in Europe and is being held in Belfast, Northern Ireland between 12th and 14th March 2014. ICVES has been developed and delivered by industry practitioners and is supported by the International Centre for Crowd Management and Security Studies (ICCMSS) based at Bucks New University.
The conference takes a holistic view of event safety considering the different aspects relevant to Venues and Events and aims to improve safety through discussion around industry wide topics and identifying worldwide best practice.
The first speakers to be announced are:
Paul Turner CFE is the Director of Event Operations & Security at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to joining the Cowboys in 2008 Paul had has developed and led guest and event services operations at performing arts centres, arenas and stadiums across the USA. Paul is well known worldwide for his developing industry best practice in guest and security operations.
Morten Therkildsen BA FdA is the CEO of ConCom Safety and Security based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Morten has over 11 years experience in the Crowd Management and Event Safety industry and was one of the first people to graduate with both a FdA in Crowd Safety Management and BA Honours in Crowd Safety Management from the International Centre for Crowd Management and Security Studies at Bucks New University. Morten holds the position of Head of Security and Health and Safety at many major events including Roskilde Festival in Denmark.
Professor Dr. G. Keith Still FIMA FICPEM is a Crowd Dynamics and Science expert with international experience in working with event organisers to implement safety systems and practices for Crowd Management. Professor Still develops and teaches a wide range of crowd safety courses for event organisers, police, first responders, emergency planners, city authorities, building control and licensing officers and is a published author on the subject.
Some of Professor Still’s previous projects include London New Years Eve Celebrations, UK, SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, The Royal Wedding of Prince William in London, UK, and Jamarat Bridge in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
