Mr. Siko’s appointment was revealed at the start of the 2013 FIA Expo in Chicago
Chicago: Options, the leading private financial cloud provider for the global capital markets industry has announced that the former NYSE Euronext and Arca executive, Roark Siko, has joined the firm as VP of Sales and Customer Service for the Midwest. The IaaS provider made the announcement at the start of the 2013 FIA Futures and Options Expo in Chicago.
Based in Chicago, Mr. Siko will be responsible for Options’ expansion in Chicago and the wider Midwest. Mr. Siko will join a number of former NYSE Euronext executives at Options, including Danny Moore, Ken Barnes and Tim Yockel, who joined the infrastructure as a service provider earlier this year as SVP of Global Sales. Options previously opened an office in Chicago in February of this year.
Prior to joining Options, Mr. Siko served as Vice President, Relationship Development for NYSE Euronext, the first cross-border exchange group created by the 2007 combination of NYSE Group, Inc. and Euronext N.V. In that capacity, he was responsible for developing and managing relationships with broker dealers that generated 20% of equity trading revenue for the firm. Mr. Siko joined NYSE as a result of its 2006 merger with Chicago-based Archipelago Exchange. During his time with Arca, Mr. Siko served as both Manager of Trade Support and VP of Sales.
Options CEO, Nigel Kneafsey said: “The key driver behind establishing an office in Chicago was to support our ever-increasing pool of clients in the region while better communicating the Options offering to key buy and sell-side firms there. The natural next step was to make a senior hire to lead this effort and we are delighted to have been able to attract someone of Roark’s quality and experience. Roark has deep roots in the trading and banking community in Chicago, going right back to his time with CME, through to Arca and of course, NYSE. He has a deep knowledge of the industry there and is exactly the type of industry heavyweight we want to lead the team in Chicago.”
Mr Siko said: “Chicago is no different when it comes to the demands of modern capital markets. Both buy-side and sell-side firms require a robust platform that’s sensitive to cost, can be deployed quickly and on a global scale. State-of-the art cloud-based technology at the lowest capital investment and fixed cost is now a must-have, and this is exactly what Options offer. It’s a solution in demand and one that I am excited to be taking to the market here.”
