HTS

Rishon LeZion, Israel: HTS, a leader in the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and computer vision systems market, last week announced that it had sold 120 license plate recognition (LPR) systems  for the integration of LPR into an automatic parking system for a public sector parking project in Hong Kong.

The systems were sold to HTS's partner Access Control Systems Ltd. (ACS), and will be integrated into the entire parking solution provided by ACS to Imperial Parking of Hong Kong, one of the leading parking operators who operate hundreds of car parks in Hong Kong.

By using the vehicle License Plate as the primary identifier for the parking application, this project will answer the challenges raised by dense city parking, as it will audit and control  the parking revenues from one central location as well as providing a centralized service solution for the many residents of Hong Kong  with easy and accurate parking subscriptions and discounts in their areas of residence.

By increasing the number of automated parking lots, it is possible to decrease human resources required,  increase revenue, decrease vandalism in the parking lots and increase level of service to city residents.

"The fact that HTS LPR systems were selected by companies of the stature of ACS and Imperial Parking is a tribute to the quality of our products and the level of service upon which we pride ourselves.  It is an honor to work with them." stated Meta Rotenberg, VP Marketing and Business Development at HTS.

"The ease of installation and integration with our parking solution, along with the accuracy of results were the deciding factor for us in the purchase of HTS LPR systems" added Pele Wong, Senior Manager at ACS.

HTS vehicle recognition systems detect and read vehicle license plates for parking, access control, traffic surveillance, law enforcement and Homeland security applications. In addition, HTS systems provide enhanced vehicle classification with plate color and vehicle recognition, along with country, and car make and model for a wide range of security and logistics applications.

Access Control Systems Limited who is responsible for the total implementation of the project, provides turnkey systems to Imperial Parking including complete management and automation, parking passes, billing, inventory control etc. to their customers.

Access Control Systems Limited, a part of UTC Climate, Controls and Security Systems , is an advanced technology and quality services provider in Hong Kong. The company was established in 1994, and designs, supplies, installs and maintains car parks and traffic maintenance projects.
