Cardinal Security returned to support the 2014 HMV Football Extravaganza
Cardinal Security was appointed to handle the security at the annual HMV Football Extravaganza (FE) event that took place on Tuesday 14th October, Vigilance can report.
Held at The Hilton Hotel on London’s Park Lane, the event marked the fifth year that Cardinal Security had been appointed to manage security at the event. As in previous years, Cardinal supplied a number of security officers who took responsibility for all general and VIP admission entrances as well as any additional security needs at the event. In the spirit of charity, a number of the officers were provided free-of-charge.
Football Extravaganza was first launched in 1996 to raise money for Nordoff Robbins, a national music charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the UK. The event has seen over £5 million raised for the charity through a series of celebrity auctions of football memorabilia and artwork.
Past FE events have celebrated the careers of a number of sporting heroes from the football world including Pele, Jose Mourinho and Sir Bobby Charlton. This year, the event honoured one of the most decorated players in English Football History – Ryan Giggs, Manchester United’s longest serving player and current assistant manager, with the Legend of Football award.
Speaking to the FE, Ryan Giggs said: It’s an honour and privilege to be presented with the Legend of Football Award, particularly when I look back at the list of previous winners. I am looking forward to the event, celebrating with friends and colleagues and raising money for Nordoff Robbins music therapy, a really incredible cause.”
Ryan Giggs was joined by former teammates Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, and Bryan Robson, at the hugely successful event, which raised £402,000 this year. In addition to receiving the Legend of Football award, Giggs was treated to a special performance from fellow countrymen, the Stereophonics.
Jason Trigg, CEO of The Cardinal Group, said: “It was fantastic to be a part of Football Extravaganza once again. The event was attended by a number of high-profile figures and our renewed relationship with Football Extravaganz
