Destruction of documents

Let experts carry out the destruction of your unwanted information the professional way

Buoyed by the success it recorded in June 2011, the British Security Industry Association has concluded plans to return its Information Destruction Exhibition and Conference on the 30th May 2012, at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

According to a source at the BSIA this one-day event, aimed at key decision makers in organisations that carry out the secure destruction of confidential material, will feature a stimulating conference programme and a comprehensive exhibition, which will give delegates an opportunity to see a host of products and services related to their industry.

List of confirmed speakers made available to Vigilance by the BSIA include accomplished sales trainer Mark Wormald, from the Sandler Sales Institute, and Martin Hutchins, from Cambridge Professional Academy. Martin will return to the event to build upon last year’s popular session on marketing techniques to cover ‘Modern Media Marketing’, including discussions on social networking, social media and offline networking. Other presentations will provide delegates with a perspective from a number of representatives from the sector’s supply-chain, including the view from a representative of a paper mill and an end-user.

Vigilance learnt the event will then conclude with a Q&A session by four industry experts, and a drinks reception. On the same evening, a networking dinner will be organised for delegates and exhibitors wishing to attend, providing a further opportunity to connect. Requests for more information on the networking dinner can be made at the time of booking.

Anthony Pearlgood, Chairman of the BSIA’s Information Destruction section said: “Every year the BSIA and the Information Destruction section work very hard to further build the success and quality of this event, which has grown to become an important highlight in the calendar of many industry professionals. For 2012, we have listened to the feedback from last year’s delegates and exhibitors, and have adjusted the format to better reflect their wishes, extending the duration of the event and providing more opportunities to network.”

Pearlgood added: “At a time when data breaches and effective disposal of information are becoming increasingly newsworthy, it is important for the whole of our industry to stay one step ahead of developments in technologies and processes, and understand the requirements and concerns affecting our supply chain. I look forward to welcoming both BSIA members and non-members at the event”
