Clavister is working in collaboration with Swedish IT solutions provider Bluecom to deliver the largest outdoor secure Wi-Fi network for the 2015 World Ski Championships in Falun.
The organisers of the Championships are focusing on maximising the audience experience with Smart Wi-Fi solutions and services for the 200,000-plus spectators that are expected to visit the area during the event, as well as enabling secure, flexible communications for the event’s athletes, volunteers, officials and media.
Robert Sjöholm, CEO of Bluecom, said that they are working with carefully selected suppliers in order to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions. "We chose Clavister for their products, services and commitment to secure Wi-Fi and mobile data offloading. The 2015 World Ski Championships in Falun is an event that places extremely high demands on capacity and security, so we are building a network that can rise to the challenge of up to 30,000 users per day logging in.”
James Bystrom, VP of global sales at Clavister said: "The special skills that Bluecom possesses in relation to arena solutions ensure that the network will not only be secure, but also stable and fast, optimising usability for everyone at the Championships."
The installation of the network has begun and is expected to be ready for the New Year. Bluecom has installed and deployed wireless networks in all of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) arenas, with Clavister providing secured communications on the networks.
