The global economy may be in recession, but one company, Securitas appears to be saying, “To hell with you, recession!” as it’s traversing the globe to acquire one company after another. The latest addition to the Securitas Group is the security consulting company, Interseco in the Netherlands whose Enterprise value has been estimated at MSEK 43 (MEUR 4.5).
Interseco, with annual sales of approximately MSEK 65 (MEUR 7) and approximately 50 employees, focuses on advising and assisting their customers to detect and gain control of crime risks. Interseco offers mainly four types of services: consultancy, investigation, security and training services.
The acquisition was consolidated in Securitas AB as of January 1, 2011.
Last November, 2010, the European Commission approved Securitas’ acquisition of Reliance Security Services in the United Kingdom.
As disclosed on September 30, 2010, Securitas would acquire Reliance Security Services in the United Kingdom, with annual sales of approximately MSEK 2,160 (MGBP 200). The enterprise value was estimated at MSEK 464 (MGBP 43).
The acquisition was consolidated in Securitas AB as of November 9, 2010.
Again, following the strategy to increase its global presence, Securitas went down South Africa to acquire the security services company Piranha Security (CC) whose Enterprise value was estimated at MSEK 15 (MZAR 15).
Piranha Security has annual sales of approximately MSEK 40 (MZAR 40) and approximately 500 employees. The company specializes in guarding and monitoring services, mainly in Johannesburg.
With this acquisition, Securitas in South Africa has annual sales of approximately MSEK 119 (MZAR 120) and approximately 1,500 employees, with operations in guarding, security systems, mobile services, alarm monitoring, forensics and risk management services.
The acquisition was consolidated in Securitas AB as of 1 December, 2010.
