ISACA Certifies 5,000th CGEIT

Certification’s growth reflects demand for experienced IT Governance professionals

London, UK: According to a recent global survey of more than 3,700 IT professionals who are members of ISACA, half (52%) report their enterprises do not have enough IT staff and 44% are planning to increase their IT-related investments in the next 12 months. Reflective of the increasing demand for experienced IT professionals, particularly in the governance area, ISACA recently awarded the 5,000th Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certification. The first CGEIT exam was administered in December 2008.

25 fake smartphone applications generate costly Premium rate SMS

PRAGUE, Czech Republic: Researchers at the AVAST antivirus labs in Prague have discovered a new batch of fake alternative marketplaces for downloading smartphone apps that trick users into sending premium rate SMS messages. Using a variant of the Android:FakeInst family, the new marketplaces hosted at www.t2file.net, www.uons.net, www.uote.net and www.sofile.net are aimed at defrauding users looking for smartphone screen savers and games.
