ProRail chooses NICE Situator for security, safety and operations management

NICE is partnering with Geodan to deploy an integrated security solution for improved incident responses, which is also expected to decrease downtime caused by accidents

RA’ANANA, ISRAEL: NICE Systems (NASDAQ: NICE) today announced that ProRail, the government agency responsible for rail infrastructure in the Netherlands, is deploying NICE Situator to help identify, verify and manage security, safety, and operations in real time. The solution will also be instrumental in post-event investigation, analysis and the ongoing evaluation of event handling. NICE is partnering with Geodan, an expert in GIS and crisis management systems, to implement this project.

Locking down the cloud

The good news for cloud providers is that forward-thinking CIOs are rushing to embrace all things ‘cloud’, realising that it provides a flexible and cost-effective option for IT infrastructure, data storage and software applications. The bad news is that the most significant obstacle to implementation could be internal: coming from other parts of the organisation where enduring myths about legal implications, security and privacy issues remain. The reality is that today such fears are largely unfounded. CIOs need help in communicating this to their more reluctant colleagues if they want to make the move to the cloud a success.
