When web designers and web masters sit down to create a website, all too often security doesn’t make the initial list. However, some issues are harder to fix retroactively than others.

In his latest blog, WhiteHat Security’s Technical Evangelist - Robert Hansen, lists out what he sees as the top 10 proactive web application security measures. Why these 10? In Robert’s own words, “Because these are way harder to shoe-horn and retrofit after deployment, we rarely see these done correctly in practice.”

With the announcement of SecureSphere version 10.0, Imperva added a crowd-sourced threat intelligence service that aggregates and validates attack data from WAFs to protect against hackers, automated clients, and zero-day attacks. We can then validate the data and stop attack campaigns in almost real-time. The “Community Defense” service has already proven successful in deterring new and original attacks when they strike the first time.
