SFW awarded G-Cloud 4 supplier status

Woking, Surrey: SFW has announced that it has achieved supplier status on the G-Cloud 4 Framework, with 27 offerings available across the Software as a Service (SaaS), Specialist Cloud Services (SCS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) lots. This follows SFW’s previous success on G-Cloud iii and G-Cloud ii frameworks. The UK Government G-Cloud 4 framework enables the rapid sourcing and deployment of secure, competitively priced cloud services to over 30,000 organisations in the UK public sector.

Emulex and Brocade advance end-to-end Gen 5 Fibre Channel SAN Capabilities

SNW EUROPE, FRANKFURT, and COSTA MESA, Calif.: Emulex Corporation has announced that the company is working with Brocade to improve the reliability, availability, and manageability of Gen 5 Fibre Channel (FC) based storage area networks (SANs) in the enterprise data centre and the cloud. Specifically, Emulex and Brocade have worked together to integrate Brocade’s ClearLink diagnostics technology into Emulex LightPulse Gen 5 FC Host Bus Adapters (HBAs).

Operation Safer Places Autumn Nights

With Halloween and Bonfire Night around the corner, the MPS yesterday, Monday 28 October 2013, launched its seasonal crackdown on anti-social behaviour and associated crime.

Anti social behaviour [ASB] can blight the lives of communities - never more so during the period of half term, Halloween and Bonfire Night.

Vulnerable people can be left feeling scared and worried around this time of year because of uninvited trick or treating, or firework misuse.

Criminals also exploit the period, coupled with the nights drawing in, to commit robbery; theft and burglary - targeting high value mobile phones; jewellery and other valuables.
