Annual global survey reveals widespread uncertainty about cloud security and negative impact on security posture

InfoSecurity Europe, London and Plantation, Fla: Thales, a world leader in Critical Information Systems and Cybersecurity announces the cloud is losing the ‘scare factor’ for businesses, according to its latest report – Encryption in the Cloud. The study reveals that more and more organizations are transferring sensitive or confidential information to public cloud services even though more than a third expect a negative impact on security posture. In response, the use of encryption is increasing but more than half of respondents still admit their sensitive data goes unprotected when it is stored in the cloud, despite data security topping the global news agenda.

Radiant Logic annouces ADAP, an Open Source REST API Layer for LDAP

NOVATO, Calif.: Radiant Logic has announced “ADAP” (Adaptive Directory Access Protocol), a REST interface for LDAP directory services. The company is contributing the open source ADAP code to a Kantara Initiative work group, aimed at expanding the traditional Identity Management (IdM) segment to Identity Relationship Management (IRM). ADAP is available for download at the Radiant Logic website. With ADAP, web and mobile applications can tap directly into directory sources that support the LDAP V3 standards, including Oracle/Sun Directory, Microsoft Active Directory, Open LDAP, ForgeRock OpenDJ, OpenDS, Novell NDS eDirectory, Red Hat Directory, IBM Tivoli, and RadiantOne HDAP.

Cubic wins $35 million follow-on contract to support British Army

SAN DIEGO, Calif: Cubic Defense Systems, a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) announced today it was awarded a follow-on contract worth more than $35 million. The three-year contract is for support and repair of the Area Weapons Effects Simulator (AWES) system at the Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA) in the UK and the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) in Alberta, Canada.
