Unusually, for the Met, it did give more than a hint that public order events of last weekend would present a challenge to police planners and officers out there on the ground. Doubtless, the headline writers and those former police officers who have appeared so frequently on our screens lambasting police were poised for further media appearances.

Since the unsurprising, but very embarrassing and shameful outcome of the 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria, which no doubt has orphaned a great nation; and predominating in my oracular glass is the uneasy calm that has descended upon our nation with violence and war flapping their wings in and around Nigeria as a fowl shot by an evil hunter, who returned from an unsuccessful hunting expedition at the Okipu rainforest, but turned its anger at a fowl that crossed his path in the heat of the anger of returning empty-handed from the jungle without any game, thinking he would convince his kinsmen that the domesticated fowl was indeed a type of guinea fowl. Is the modern world not full of desperate men like that hunter?
