When people are secluded and prevented from being exposed to the trends of civilisation and enlightenment for a very long time, either by rigid dogmatic religious beliefs or sticking tenaciously to native customs and tradition without room for personal self- examination or conviction; it is tantamount to a prison state, where inmates are shut out of the wider society and deprived of the benefits of socialization, which makes us to be aware, participate in and appreciate what is around us and, thus have a sense of belonging.
