AlienVault to work with HP on cyber threat-sharing initiative to strengthen security across industries

LONDON, UK: AlienVault has announced its plans to work with HP to broaden the reach of cyber threat intelligence sharing to support more organizations in staying ahead of emerging attacks. As part of the effort, HP intends to integrate data from AlienVault Open Threat Exchange (OTX) into HP Threat Central, its cloud-based threat intelligence sharing and analysis platform. AlienVault intends to also integrate data from HP Threat Central into OTX, one of the industry’s first crowd-sourced threat intelligence-sharing systems.

MWR lays down the gauntlet for hackers to demonstrate their prowess

How Attackers Exploit People to Circumvent Cyber-security

LONDON, UK: Proofpoint, Inc. has released the results of its annual study that details the ways attackers exploit end-users' psychology to circumvent IT security. The Human Factor Report 2015 reveals that last year was the year attackers “went corporate” by changing their tactics to focus on businesses rather than consumers, exploiting middle management overload of information sharing, and trading off attack volume for sophistication. The Proofpoint findings reiterate how human behavior, not simply system or software vulnerabilities, has significant implications on enterprise security—and what defenses are necessary in a world where everyone clicks.

Check Point and FireEye announce new partnership to share threat intelligence

San Francisco, CA: Check Point Software Technologies Ltd and FireEye have announced a partnership to share threat intelligence to protect customers from modern advanced attacks. As part of this cooperation, Check Point’s ThreatCloud and Next Generation Threat Prevention solutions and the FireEye NX platform will share the latest threat intelligence in real-time, allowing customers to update firewall security policies dynamically based on the intelligence from both platforms.
