Re-examining Terrorism

Part One

Terrorism is loosely defined as the perpetration of acts of violence against innocent people for political reasons. The explanations given for the rise of this phenomenon vary from political to socio-economic to cultural to religious, and so forth. We are also told that people commit those horrendous acts when they do not have comparable, conventional military means of retaliation and are feeling desperate. Terrorists are held to be individuals who are brainwashed, callous, immune to human suffering, and full of hate.

Convoy of MG Rover fundraisers to tackle Land’s End to John O’Groats for limbless veterans

Starting from Land’s End on Friday 02 October, a convoy of members of MG Rover clubs based all over the UK will be setting off from Land’s End to complete the iconic journey across the length of the country, ending in John O’Groats on Monday 5th. The event will be raising for Blesma, The Limbless Veterans.

Security Experts react to OPM breaches...reveals 5.6 million fingerprints stolen

Jeff Hill, Channel Marketing Manager, STEALTHbits says: "Public details of the OPM breach are sparse. We don’t know how long the attackers operated on the OPM network undetected. We don’t know the means of initial infiltration. However, that the Government is revising its damage estimates yet again implies the extent to which sensitive data was exposed is still unclear, a troubling development further suggesting the time between initial breach and detection was substantial. It takes time to compromise privileged credentials, find the sensitive personnel data those credentials have access to, and exfiltrate millions of records without attracting attention. Few in the data security world would be surprised if we eventually learn the bad actors operated with relative impunity on the OPM network for a timeframe measured in months, if not years."
