The International Optical Technologies Association (IOTA), formerly the International Hologram Manufacturers Association, has appointed Chander Jeena as its new General Secretary as it gears up for growth and expansion.

IOTA membership embraces developers and suppliers of security features based on technologies that in addition to holography, feature micro-lens arrays, micro-mirrors, plasmonics, nano-gratings, colour change, caustics, polarisation, photonic crystals, special print-generated effects, or a combination of all of these.

The Royal Navy will today appoint Her Majesty The Queen as Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom when she attends a ceremony on HMS Astute in HMNB Devonport.

The honorary appointment which dates back to the mid-16th Century, will include the formal presentation of a burgee (pennant) by Rear Admiral Andy Perks, Head of the Submarine Service – recognising Her Majesty’s ongoing support for the Royal Navy.
