Holy book apps dish out malicious code

Proofpoint researchers recently analyzed a wide variety of apps available on iOS and Android app stores and quantified the extent of the risk they pose to their users, as well as their personal and company data. One of the key findings from the study is that clearly, one cannot ‘judge a book by its cover’: from card games to flashlights to holy books, some apps steal data, some track users’ location and message contacts while others make unauthorized calls.

NHS patients denied funding for advanced microprocessor prosthetic knees

Amputees struggling to rebuild their lives after accidents or serious illness have been denied a chance to use advanced prosthetic legs pioneered by military veterans.

Up to 700 patients a year - such as Leah Washington, who suffered terrible leg injuries in the Alton Towers rollercoaster crash - were in line to benefit from prosthetics with microprocessor knee joints after extensive research proved their effectiveness.
