Mobile apps can provide a quick solution to outdated Police IT

Following the publication this morning of the Police Federation’s research into ‘chaotic’ police IT, Peter Wilson from Coeus Software has issued the following response.

Coeus Software have spent a lot of time understanding the challenges of digital transformation within the Police Service, and they agree with the Police Federation’s findings. However, Peter points out that while simplifying police IT appears to be a priority for the Home Office, it will take time, so forces need a solution that work today.

Security Industry Authority launches consultation on eligibility criteria

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is launching a consultation on the revised eligibility and ‘fit and proper' criteria requirements for private security businesses seeking approval to the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS). The criteria have been updated as part of the fundamental review of the scheme.

The Security Industry Authority reminds the private security industry of their responsibilities under the Equality Act

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is today reminding the private security industry to treat everyone with dignity and respect as set out in the Equality Act (2010).

This advice follows reports in the media of people being denied entry or ejected from venues operating in the night time economy based on their race, religion, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability.
