The UK is focusing defence spending on five key defence technologies.

While established defence contractors and large prime integrators play a crucial role in the UK and European defence sectors, there is a compelling argument for investing in early to mid-stage companies led by UK and European entrepreneurs with crucial military or security experience. These companies are often better positioned to drive innovation, adapt quickly to emerging threats, and provide cutting-edge solutions to complex defence challenges.

A new defence investment report from Heligan Group has identified the key technologies from early to mid-stage companies that are driving UK, European, and NATO capability and therefore the projection of power.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the nature of global security through tools that extend beyond conventional warfare, such as autonomous drones, deepfake propaganda, and algorithm-driven cyberattacks. These developments pose complex threats, destabilizing societies psychologically and systemically. Traditional military defenses are ill-equipped to counter such intangible, yet potent dangers. Invincible Defense Technology (IDT), a non-lethal, evidence-based solution, uses the collective in-group practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM) and the advanced TM-Sidhi program to prevent both internal and external threats to national security.   

This article examines how IDT functions as a protective buffer against societal unrest, armed conflict, and terrorism. It highlights IDT’s capacity to foster national cohesion and evaluates its strategic benefits compared to both conventional military tactics and alternative non-military defense solutions. Supported by extensive peer-reviewed scientific research and field tests, IDT presents a low-cost, scalable, field-tested addition to current means to securing peace in an era dominated by AI-driven threats.
