Vigilance can report that the Ministry of Defence yesterday signed a new £40 million contract with BAE Systems to ensure the UK retains a leading edge in the next generation of combat air systems.

General Sir David Richards, Chief of the Defence Staff on December 14th, 2011 in London, delivered the RUSI Annual Lecture where he canvassed economic growth and the pursuit of transatlantic military alliances. Said General Richards, “The country’s main effort must be the economy. No country can defend itself if bankrupt...Alliances not only have the benefit of extending our reach and providing us with allies in times of need, they can also assist with the government’s Prevention strategy.”
