Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police MD Abubakar last Wednesday whilst on an empathy trip to the scenes of the recent Jos bomb blasts assured the nation of the police and other security agencies’ readiness to get Boko Haram and international terrorists currently operating in Nigeria out of business
MD as he is fondly called by his compatriots was in the company of heads of other security agencies and appealed for calm and promised to stop at nothing in unmasking and bringing to book those behind the purposeless wickedness.
The police report puts the total deaths following the blasts at 75 persons (73 adults and 2 children) and 70 others with varying degrees of injuries.
The IGP who commiserated with families and friends of the affected victims tasked all Nigerians to be extra vigilant in the fight against terrorism.
According to the IGP policing is a collective responsibility hence he enjoined his compatriots to always feed the police with useful information that could help in unmasking the authors and sponsors of the crime, wherever they are domiciled.
