UK: As part of an expanded 2014 schedule of European events, SANS brings world-class IT security training to Munich, Germany with two of its most popular courses for penetration testers and forensic investigators.
SANS Munich takes place from Monday March 31st to Saturday April 5th at the Marriott's Courtyard Hotel in the heart of Munich. The event includes two 6-day courses namely SEC504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling led by James Lyne and FOR610: Reverse-Engineering Malware: Malware Analysis Tools and Techniques led by Jess Garcia.
SEC504 is one of the most popular courses on the SANS roster and addresses the latest cutting-edge insidious attack vectors, the "oldie-but-goodie" attacks that are still so prevalent, and everything in between. Instead of merely teaching a few hack attack tricks, this course includes a time-tested, step-by-step process for responding to computer incidents; a detailed description of how attackers undermine systems so you can prepare, detect, and respond to them; and a hands-on workshop for discovering holes before attackers.
FOR610 is a popular malware analysis course that helps forensic investigators, incident responders and IT administrators acquire practical skills for examining malicious programs. The malware analysis process taught in the class helps incident responders assess the severity and repercussions of a situation that involves malicious software and plan recovery steps. Students also learn how to understand the key characteristics of malware discovered during an examination, including how to establish indicators of compromise (IOCs) for scoping and containing the incident.
