According to the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Organized Crime 2012-2013, the cross-border flow of global proceeds from criminal activities, corruption and tax evasion is estimated at over US$ 1 trillion, with illegal drugs and counterfeit goods each accounting for 8% of world trade. With technological advancement occurring at an unprecedented rate and scale, the world is now confronted with a host of new crime threats that are increasingly complex and intertwined. Fuelled by the same forces of globalisation that expand trade and communications, organised crime threatens human security and hinders economic and political stability at an enormous cost to development.
Consequently, INTERPOL World, a new global security event aimed at finding innovative solutions to real world security challenges, will take place in Singapore to address issues facing world security. Held from 14-16 April 2015, INTERPOL World provides unprecedented opportunities for security solution-providers to interact with international police organisations, law enforcement agencies and security professionals to identify current and future security challenges and offer innovative solutions. It is the only platform of its kind dedicated to innovation and creation of game-changing technologies through promotion of public-private-partnerships to develop and drive security initiatives for the global security landscape.
