The recession notwithstanding, the UK security industry appears to be bubbling with a beehive of activities as lots of business deals have been going on of late-acquisition and merger, mouth watery deals being struck, new contracts being sealed, plus, em, em, executive appointments, etc.  But are these deals reflecting on the salaries of the SIA licensed security officers who take the heats at their various duty stations?

Anyway, Vigilance can authoritatively report that the latest in this acquisition deal is Compass Group UK and Ireland which has just acquired Vision Security Group, one of UK’s leading security services.

This partnership reinforces the Compass strategy to establish itself as a leading presence in the support services industry.

Ian Sarson, Group Managing Director of Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: "I am delighted to bring VSG into the Compass portfolio. Its strong organic sales, market leading client retention and organisational culture are an ideal match for our Compass business. The VSG business will materially enhance the security element of our offering and provide a huge opportunity to sell these services to our existing clients. In addition, this will greatly enhance the security part of our 'bundled' offer of soft services across all sectors."

Keith Francis, Managing Director of VSG, echoes: "We are delighted to be working as part of Compass who, as a global support services company, will give us the ideal platform to accelerate our growth. We believe this combination will enable us to build on VSG's success to date and give us an exciting future. The Compass business and culture are an exceptional fit for the VSG team, thereby strengthening both new opportunities and existing relationships. This reaffirms our commitment to unparalleled levels of service and standards for VSG's clients."

VSG is the UK's leading independent supplier of security services to national blue-chip organisations. It offers award-winning expertise in manned guarding, electronic security and remote monitoring. Operating across 1,200 client sites and with nearly 6,000 employees, it is the largest independent security provider in the UK. VSG has national coverage and has its headquarters in Northampton together with regional offices in London, Belfast and Dublin.
