LOS ANGELES, CA: Lieberman Software Corporation has announced how its Lieberman RED - Rapid Enterprise Defense™ Suite helps US government agencies improve their cyber security standing through the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program. Details are provided in the new white paper Achieve NERC CIP Compliance with Lieberman RED.
"Federal government agencies are high value targets of advanced cyber attacks," said Philip Lieberman, President and CEO of Lieberman Software. "Through the CDM Program, the DHS is taking the right steps to protect sensitive government systems. The Lieberman RED Suite can provide a critical cyber defense layer against attacks targeting government organizations, while also helping federal agencies with key CDM initiatives."
"We provide a highly-automated solution that can be quickly deployed to large government environments, so costs to taxpayers for implementation are very low and ongoing costs are almost zero," Lieberman said. "And by reducing manual IT tasks -- like changing passwords by hand -- we help government IT workers focus on more strategic initiatives. This makes everyone happier and contributes to federal employee retention of highly skilled cyber defense staff."
Complying with Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM)
The Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program was established by the US Department of Homeland Security to provide government agencies with IT security software and services for continuous protection against cyber attacks. CDM consists of 15 Tool Functional Areas (TFAs) grouped into five subcategories.
Some of these TFAs include:
· Manage Trust in People Granted Access
· Manage Security Related Behavior
· Manage Credentials and Authentication
· Manage Account Access
The Lieberman RED Suite and Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation
The Lieberman RED Suite consists of five cyber security modules that help IT identify and repair weaknesses in security configuration, implement strong privileged identity and access management, and provide an automated remediation when a cyber attack is detected.
The Lieberman RED Suite helps government agencies directly meet the CDM program's TFAs by:
· Providing detailed reports of hardware and software assets
· Ensuring that only authorized and audited staff can access critical IT assets
· Discovering and securing privileged credentials in an automated and continuous process
· Generating comprehensive system configuration reports -- including information on accounts, groups, installed software and patches, registry values, and more.
